Re: Annual Black Monday Happenings
Imagine all 4 NFC South head coaches getting canned. That would be unprecedented.

Re: Annual Black Monday Happenings
Falcons Saints Game next year will not be pretty... DA better grow a pair.
|
Re: Annual Black Monday Happenings
prediction..
Steelers let Tomlin leave, Falcons pick Tomlin up, obtain a stud at QB... Atlanta runs the table. DA left picking his nose, and scratching his ass. |

And yet, DA with his record, still has a job!SMH

Re: Annual Black Monday Happenings
The Saints signed a 5 year extension on the Dome. The cracks are beginning to form right in front of our eyes. John Gruden? You think Goodell dislikes Payton? Keep DA let him run the franchise back to the Aints days. The dome starts to get empty right about the end of the 5 year period. Ownership complains about lack of local support. Away they go!! Everything the front office is saying and doing points in that direction.

Gayle Benson has her will designed to keep the Saints in New orleans after her death. We may not be a large market team but the Saints fan base is strong along the Gulf Coast. |

Not HC (firings) related but thought I'd post these here ...
Eagles Firing Coach Brian Johnson Per ‘All Indications’: Report Jaguars to hire Ryan Nielsen as defensive coordinator With Arthur Smith OUT as HC in Atlanta, not surprised to see Ryan move on. I wish him well down in Jacksonville. |

And one of the main factors as to why the Saints will never be leaving New Orleans is the Super Bowl itself. Of all franchise locations in the league New Orleans remains the most well suited to host the big game when factoring in the infrastructure (hotels, restaurants, entertainment, and international airport) and the climate. The game is mandated to be played in the home stadium of one of the franchises every year and will continue to remain in the regular rotation. The upgrades being completed this year were no doubt are part of the deal to keep that spot intact for many years to come. Win or lose it has grown to the point where tickets will continue to be sold out every year, be it to Saints fans or to ticket brokers, given that New Orleans remains one of the top tourist destinations in the entire country. |

Re: Annual Black Monday Happenings
It would be hard to take the Saints out of New Orleans because of the history of the Superdome - the sheer number of Super Bowls and Sugar Bowls that have been played here, some Final Four's too I believe. And more to come as time goes on. People know that New Orleans is a tourist destination of its own kind. There's more leverage than just the Saints and the loyal fan base itself. Other cities like Buffalo and Minnesota have been rumored to lose their teams over time yet they are standing strong and NOLA has advantages over them as the optics of the NFL losing NOLA would be the worst.

Mike Vrabel undergoing in-person second interview with Falcons on Wednesday
Credit Mr. Blank on trying to get better with proven (Belichick, Harbaugh) head coaches. Like I stated in another post, Atlanta isn't going to "suck" forever in the NFC South. |
Re: Annual Black Monday Happenings
Just heard something interesting on NFL Radio concerning the Falcons and their owner Blank. They were concerned that Blank keeps going outside and hiring a new coach every three years, but that he "just keeps doing the same thing" keeping those in charge of player acquisition around year after year. I thought it was humorous that the Failclowns were being accused by them of doing the same thing that some around here believe the Saints are doing.

Hebert will improve under Harbaugh. They have solid building blocks to compete.
