Re: 5 Possible OC Candidates

Maybe its just as well if we hire a horrible disaster OC. Even if the offense were better we are not winning it all with DA as head coach, peak Derek Carr, our lousy oline, and rapidly aging stars like Kamara, Jordan, Davis, and Lattimore who will all mostly likely be worse next year. All a great OC may do is get us to keep overpaying Carr for his mediocre talent and possibly buy DA another year if we somehow win the garbage NFC South and lose in the first round of the playoffs. If the new OC would be our new HC down the road we would want the best, but if the new OC is more like Mike McCarthy keeping Jim Haslett afloat, make its better if we find the equivalent of McCarthy's successor as Saints OC. What's Mike Sheppard doing these days? Any chance of bringing in Jared Stidham as our backup QB?

As of today, there are 12 OC openings & 2 pending Head Coaching hires. Time to get off your hands and make a hire as this needs to be addressed immediately.

Senior bowl is next weekend (Feb 3).

"Get er done".

Maybe losing him to the Denver Saints is a good thing :beatnik:?

Apparently he is going there as an elevation of position. I suppose the Denver counterpart to Ireland himself.

Haven't heard or read anything to the contrary.

Definitely a step up for Rager!

"The Broncos are in the process of hiring Cody Rager as their vice president of player personnel. Rager had been with the New Orleans Saints the previous nine years, most recently as their assistant college scouting director. While there, he impressed former Saint-turned-Broncos head coach Sean Payton to hire him away with a promotion."

Pretty much a parallel position to Ireland now.
