I was literally just talking to a niners fan earlier at work about that game!
Man what a hell of a saints team. I was very proud of the Saints hanging in there against a very physical Harbough coached team, at their house, even after taking Pierre Thomas out the game early. If we would’ve had even a half decent defensive game plan against Davis, it would’ve been ours to win

I still wonder why the Saints defense led by SP as a HC did not stop the TE in that game? The defense only had one job. And it was arguably one of the best Saints teams ever talent wise.

That 2011-2012 offense was ridiculous.

7474 yards of offense (66 tds ) in 16 games ...

I don't know if I can go back and watch it. That loss took me a long minute to get over the first time. Anyone but the 49ers!

See that’s the thing… I don’t mind losing anymore, as long as the team PLAYS.

49er's fans were saying the same thing about Jimmy Graham. Vernon Davis and him were both matchup nightmares. Jimmy had five catches and two TD's while Davis had seven catches for two TD's. Although, almost 2/3rd's of their total passing offense went through Davis. Every time they needed a play he made it.

That call was on the DC. Not on Sean Payton to tell him how to game plan. Besides, every time Payton meddled with the defense it was a mitigated disaster.

I remember in that game every critical defensive situation it seemed Gregg Williams called an all out blitz and we kept getting burned over and over again.
