A legit NT. A swing OT/OG. A TE capable of blocking and catching. A MLB. Smith isn't getting any younger. A DE capable of playing the run and pass. Jordan isn't getting any younger. A miracle from the Good Lord.

The miracle from the good lord would be an entire new front office, including a new Head Coach, for starters… but the good lord is busy with other teams.

A front office and scouting team that can actually scout 1st round DE talent

To convert the least amount of vets as possible to get under the cap

Not to splurge what cap they have with more back end contracts

Get younger

Exactly.

I would say.

Must: General Manager, Head Coach, Offensive Tackle
Need: Left Guard, DE, Scouts.
Want: QB, Slot Corner.

Lady Who Dat, a semi-regular, called into Moving the Chains yesterday on NFL Radio and was asked by both Jim Miller and Pat Kirwan about the Saints fans in New Orleans and how they felt about Saints management. She said that they were vocally against both Allen and Carmichael, especially during the games. She said she's heard a few criticize Loomis, but that she loved him. They then went on to say they couldn't understand any criticism of Loomis and said he's he clearly one of the very best GM's in the league today. They said his ability to keep a competitive product on the field for two decades is virtually unmatched elsewhere in the NFL.

I've got to say I agree completely.

I can appreciate the article. Instead of beating the dead horse over and over, it's looking for player personnel solutions that can help us improve for next season. We need to come to grasp with the reality that Loomis and Allen will be here next season.

I fully expect the horse beaters to keep it up, papz, especially around here. Without that they wouldn't have anything to post. Like you said, most reasonable folks would recognize what is is and deal with it and move on. And, yes, that's what I liked about the article, too. It dealt with those musts, needs, and wants and viable options to deal with each. I don't always agree with all of Sigler's stuff, but he's one of the best writers out there covering the Saints, these days.

See…the horse ain’t dead yet. That’s why we’re still beating it.
