We need better pass rush. I love Cam Jordan, but he was pretty useless last season. Shift him inside, draft a DE and get a younger / better safety.

Mathieu was okay, Maye is a horrible tackler and just not great overall.

10. TYRANN MATHIEU, NEW ORLEANS SAINTS

Wins above replacement: 0.17

Mathieu has allowed just 16 receptions on throws into his primary coverage this season while coming away with three interceptions and a pair of pass breakups. His 75.0 PFF grade ranks 16th among safeties, while his 79.3 PFF coverage grade ranks 11th.

He was more than just okay. He does need a competent counterpart.

Jordan Howden?

Small sample size but he looks the part to me.

Marcus Maye can kick rocks. Bad FA acquisition.

A 49ers hire would probably make him the best coach on the team. :)

A top target has emerged for one of the Saints' open offensive coaching positions

Spent time with the Niners & Jets. More importantly, he's from the Shanahan coaching tree.

Interesting points from Nick and Mike.

Saints 9-8 (stuck in mediocrity) isn't in the same ball park as Houston & Packers 9-8 record (I completely agree)
Possibly moving on from Jamaal Williams.
Raising the bar @ LT in the draft. Possibly moving TP inside to guard.
Replinishing the roster with younger talent.
Mortgaging picks (moving up in the draft).

Saints have work to do.

Saints have work to do.

I absolutely want to see us move back a couple of draft picks and get an extra pick that way rather than mortgaging the future. If this doesn't go well I don't want some other team picking early that we trade with. We do have some players with trade value though.

Sounds like Kubiak has decided to keep Barone as TE coach.

FYI, Ronald Curry is no longer with the Saints organization.

Per Jeff Duncan

Edit - he didn’t stay unemployed long … now with the Bills.
Good luck to him.
