MORE MUSINGS FROM THE NEGATIVE

We all saw the writing on the wall when Drew was in decline.
We saw SP pack his bags and split.

We know that for a pro football team to even have a chance at competing at the championship level, the HEAD COACH and the QB MUST be dominant figures.

We watched our front office “invest” in Dennis Allen, Jameis Winston, Andy Dalton, Derrick Carr, … Dennis Allen. These are rejects, and y’all know it.

Now, in the off season, we’re expected to muster up the enthusiasm for whatever band aids over bullet wounds that might masquerade as a long, painful “rebuild” that is well over a decade in the (not) making, with no relief in sight?

We fans deserve better. That’s all.

I suppose this is what makes the "ignore" function so enjoyable. One can only imagine the crap that this sinner guy has come up with this time.

LOL!

2 Dennis Allen's?! One is scary enough!

Gonna dispute one point here. I don't consider an entirely new offensive staff with a promising young coach as OC a band aid.

That was a good move. Will hold judgement on the rest of the offseason... for now.

Once again, you prove the ineffective nature of your “ignore” function, or the fact that it makes you look twice as hard. Thanks for stopping by Polly.

I’ll see you next season. Just like last season, and the one before it.

Not scary at all. That’s the problem. Typos can be fixed. Our Saints can’t.

I remember that reject from San Diego. What was his name? Drew something or other?

Didn't you know? That sinner guy is obsessed with Dennis Allen. It's like Bako and the guy that lives in his head, Loomis. Two pees in a pod.

LOL!

I'm somewhere in the middle. I think most of the Saints problems can be fixed or at least our weaknesses reduced if Kubiak really is that dude.

But due to the salary cap and the bitter taste of DA's coaching and other issues, we have less margin for error than some other teams.

The Saints' biggest issue was injuries, once again. The next biggest issue was Allen's giving the keys to the offense to Carmichael. Hopefully both issues have been rectified. Given the anemic offense Allen's defense performed quite well.

Pea soup that you just cannot seem to IGNORE. And you comparing Derrick Carr to Drew Brees, proves that you’re either totally off your meds, or your dose is higher than usual.

Kubiak has me feeling somewhat inspired. On the other hand, DA still leaves me feeling uninspired! Let's see how things play out this offseason before we start saying.....oh no, we suck again.

That’s EXACTLY what was said last off season. And oh yes. We suck again.

The Sun might rise in the west, but we’ll still be lucky to rise in the NFC SOUTH.

This is all getting a bit tiring now.

Look, none of us here liked how last season ended up and I get the need to vent every now and again, I really do. But raising these types of threads constantly, to re-hash the same stuff over and over, when it makes no difference towards the people running the show is pointless.

I enjoy speaking with you Sinner, but let's try and at least not dwell on things out of our control. It's all a bit mind numbing now.

And if they do “some” on here would complain that they did it with Allen and Loomis running things.

Personally, I would be a tad bit more than concerned if that happened. Either the rotation of the earth had suddenly reversed or the entire planet had pivoted on it's axis. Okay. I raise my hand. I'd probably complain if I was still alive.

With all due respect Dizz, It’s this team’s (mis)management from the people running the show, that should be getting tiring now, and more than a bit mind numbing. I’d rather vent here, than drink whatever Kool Aid it is that makes grown men cheer like opiated schoolgirls, who feel powerless to speak truth, or even SEE the truth. As long as our team continues to suck @$$, I’ll be here to vent about it. You are more than welcome to scroll on to Quido’s Nickelodeon Channels.

Fair enough, you obviously can do as you wish, but this just seems like a depression spiral to me and there's more to life than the Saints.

I'm going to remove myself from the site for a while.

All the best everyone.

Your stab at sarcasm never gets old. I get you more than most on here. Everything’s either black or white, no gray areas. I have someone very close to me who is the same way. Not everyone can deal with that. ;)

Looks like that sinner guy has run off yet another member. :disgusted:

A little Public Service Announcement here:

Instructions on setting a member to "ignore"

Click on user's name (example sinner guy)

Click on "View Public Profile"

Click on "User Lists"

Click on "Add to Ignore List"

At "Are you sure you want to add sinner guy to your ignore list?" click on "Yes"

Tada! The annoying presence is mostly gone unless quoted by someone else. Then again, if everyone set to ignore there won't be anyone to quote said annoyance.

We return you to your regular programming ...

A BIG PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT:

If your IGNORE function works anything like Quido’s (obviously doesn’t), you’ll end up paying ten times more attention to “that sinner guy”, just like Quido (obviously does). Better to just scroll on until our Saints can “rebuild”.

Our biggest problem was the uncanny ability of one position group to suck balls for half the season and when they finally start to get their **** together another position group ****s the bed.
Considering the draft capitol spent on the offensive line the way they performed was inexcusable. It almost looked purposeful.

I can understand how some will point at injuries as the prime culprit in underperformance, but every team in the league gets bit by the injury bug and still finds ways to overcome the adversity and win! (Especially against weak teams!) If our injuries are substantially more than other teams, then don't you think the team needs to carefully analyze the types of injuries that are occurring and look at how they're preparing? (I'm looking at the position and conditioning coaches here.)
The excuse/reason of 'well, there were injuries', however true, rings hollow after several seasons of the same.

Injuries to the offensive line have the same effect on all teams. Those that are the most successful are almost always the healthiest. Most teams can overcome the loss of one lineman, but two, three, or even four you can write 'em off.

+1.

What's even more frustrating is that the 2023 Saints were relatively healthy the majority of the season. Injuries are part of this brutal sport.

Find better depth (see Niners, Dallas, Detroit, Rams) because a starter will go down. I'd move on from players (depth pieces) like Baun, Garcia & James Hurst.

Hopefully Klint has a solid plan on offense in 2024.

Same.
63-79 as a starter in Oakland/LV.

9-8 in New Orleans.

10 years in, I think it's safe to say his body of work is mediocre at best.

We definitely need better depth on the O line because our third stringer will be a starter at some point. Move on from Hurst. He was adequate a few years back but he's a weak link now and we can do better.

That, my friend, is easier said than done. More than half the teams in the league would love to have a Hurst on their roster.

Some would argue that the 49er's took a deadly hit via injury to Greenlaw in the Super Bowl. They didn't have the depth to replace him. I believe they were up by 10 when he went down.
