The injuries that Thomas suffered were debilitating. First an ankle that ultimately required surgery including hardware. His body rejected the hardware and a second surgery was required. That is nothing that any player could play through. When he finally returned and balled out he suffered the toe injury. Some idiots claim, "Geez, it's only a toe. He should be playing." It was reportedly a complete dislocation which damaged ligaments and tendons and required yet another surgery which, in turn, required yet another extended recovery. At no point was Thomas ever sitting out collecting a check when he was able to play. In fact, there were performance based incentives that he obviously wasn't receiving. |
