"Yes, I still envision myself as a starter. However, the Lord has also called me to lead by impacting and increasing the men who are around me. Having the opportunity to work with Deshaun and help him be the best he can possibly be, is my main mission," he told CBS Sports. "Now, if Deshaun has to heal up for whatever reason, and I have to take a few games off of him, I'm going to be ready to do that; but I have to fulfill God's purpose first before my own heart's desire. Because ultimately I desire to win some Super Bowls, and this roster that Cleveland got, looks like they can do it."

Still would’ve liked to see him just 1 healthy season when we had a real head coach. Not sure it would’ve worked but I would like to have seen it.

He had his chances and his moments, but those injuries got in the way.

In spite of the coaching and the injuries, he still managed a 5-2. Not a great sample size, but I would've liked to see a bit more.

It would have been nice to hold onto him, but it's best for his career. Once we signed Carr the long term commitment was made and his chance of ever starting for the Saints on a regular basis was gone.

5-2 even with worse receivers went out the window when we 'committed' to 9-8 for like 4x the cash. Maybe the guy making the decisions should be committed for at least 4-5 years minimum.

Or maybe the guy designing and calling the plays needs to be committed. But, he's not our problem any longer.

Our problem is that way back when Drew (God Bless Him) was in decline, and Sean Payton (God Bless Him) was packing his bags, our multi-million dollar mismanagement hit the snooze button on the two most crucial parts of a team.

Now we’re stuck with Dennis Allen and Derek Carr.
