Go ahead and call me a “Hater”, or set me to “Ignore”, or tell me about how our worst years are behind us, but with the acquisition of Nathan Freakin Peterman to hold a clipboard while Derek Carr continues to draw a paycheck to make Dennis Allen’s lips stiffen… Man we broke. Y’all can polish this turd as much as you like, but our current state of mismanagement is nothing short of a slow, controlled demolition. DON’T tell me to find another team, because I bleed black and gold… but to come this far, and see such an uninspired and uninspiring series of (non) moves by a multi million dollar mismanagement program, is a DISGRACE to loyal Saints Fans. Our team is sinking into a swamp, and y’all know it.

Looking at our next schedule, and seeing how ready our opponents appear, Im tellin y’all… THERE WILL BE PAIN.

I'm not going to unblock the sinner guy to read the post so just going off the thread title. I'd be willing bet it has nothing that would relate to the original appearance of the "bags" and the small handful of fans that wore them over those few games almost 45 years ago in 1980.

After the early 80s I've always contended we had shipped the bags to Seattle, but they've since forwarded them on to some other crap team. I'm not ready to believe they have returned to us. Just not ready for that. I'd expect you to be the first donning a new "bag" hat, and that's your prerogative, but hopefully you missed this one, time will tell.

That schedule in 2024 is no joke.

Cleveland, Rams, Eagles, Dallas, Chargers, Champs etc. Pain? I just hope there won't be embarassment :rolleyes:.

Not to mention the divisional opponents will be TOUGHER. Atlanta has a new coach, QB and weapons + the draft. They aren't going to suck forever.

Saints have serious work ahead of them.

On an up note this is Allen's last year on his contract. On the other hand after living in Denver for 27 years and knowing how critical the fans are there of the Broncos, there's not much love for Sean Payton. His time is limited there. Should we welcome him back to New Orleans?

Rip the band aid straight off ... don't care if it bleeds a little. We got too many holes to fill. It's almost as if we could use a couple of years of Texans like draft slottings. We're already shopping at the dollar store for FAs, not that there's anything wrong with that. We can't really move Latt or Kamara... or can we?

On the topic of Kamara, I heard Underhill mention that he thinks the Saints are treating the 2024 year as an extension. His contract balloons after this season so depending on his production, he either gets extended, traded or cut.

Not to mention he'll be 29 at the start of training camp.

No clue on Lattimore.

Well I’m definitely saying that! I sure hope this is Mickeys last year of entertaining the idea that we’re in win now mode. We have a decent amount of good pieces in place for the future, but this current team is not winning a superbowl.

What is more deflating is that we had the 2023 season (multiple sub .500 teams & back up QBs) handed to us on a silver platter and fumbled that opportunity.

This season, you face at least 6 teams that made the playoffs & one that won it all.

Allen has a tall task ahead of him in 2024.

Why are people freaking out because of the Peterman signing, I don't get it.

I'm feeling positive about the coming season and the future of the team in general. There are definitely challenges with the team composition in regards to the roster and the financial planning, but it's not all doom and gloom.

It was doom and gloom when Drew (God Bless Him) walked off the field for the last (painful) loss. It was doom and gloom when Sean Payton packed his bags. It was doom and gloom when Dennis Allen took over. It was even doomier and gloomier when Dennis Allen came back for more of the infinite REBUILD phase. At this point, the Peterman signing is just another clipboard holding punchline to what has become a bad joke. The doom and gloom is well behind us. Our uninspired and uninspiring slow descent into a swamp of obscurity has become laughable. It has to be laughable for some of us. My supply of low dose aspirin and cigarettes was getting low two seasons ago, and I’m fresh out of hopium.

I hate to be “that guy”, but here I am. Y’all are more than welcome to scroll onto “Quido in a tutu, waving pom poms in the air” threads for inspiration.

LOVE MY SAINTS AND WANT TO WIN SO BADLY Y’ALL… Maybe next year?

Just last year we were South favorites and had the best roster in the division.

Now all of a sudden we're crap?

I like all the moves so far and there's reasons for optimism. I can see 9-11 wins next year.

Some people don't appear to be happy unless they are mad, Fin. Doom and gloom seems to be the only way those people can cope. This sinner guy seems to be one of that lot. Sad in a way. But, in another way it's their own personal problem so I don't care.

Oh, and I agree on Peterman. Let him compete for the backup spot with Haener. It wouldn't surprise me if we signed, or drafted, another to compete for the spot as well. Ideally none of them ever step foot on the field during the season ... unless it's to hold on kicks, of course.

The only problem that you don’t care about is not a personal problem. It’s professional. Our team is failing to perform and inspire at the professional level, and not only do you not care, you actually enjoy it. You’ve said so yourself.
Dennis Allen is our Head Coach, and Derek Carr is our QB, so you can expect to drive five hours to every home game, and five hours back to your humble abode, knowing that you are faithfully subsidizing a sub-mediocre product that the rest of us must suffer through. Bravo!

Post season results I think showed that our schedule was not as soft as previously surmised. Still generally agree on the missed opportunity.

A major part of that missed opportunity was Pete Carmichael swinging the bat. We are looking like we should be a better team on both sides of the ball this season.

Pete Carmichael became too easy a scapegoat for gross mismanagement in so many other areas. You putting lipstick on the pig that is our Head Coach/QB combination, is not going to give us the leadership that we’ll need to win our pathetic division, let alone any playoff games.

It's like some are looking for and hoping for any reason why the team could suck. They claim to be fans, but all they are doing is displaying an agenda of hate. No, this absolutely doesn't include you, iceshack. It's clear to everyone to whom this does apply. We see a vocal small minority on social media, and apparently a handful around here, that meet that criteria. I don't really believe you fall in that tiny number either, Dude.

Some of us don’t complain about anything and everything, we just vent about our team consistently sucking through an extended REBUILD phase that looks like it may last indefinitely. These “hours on end” are actually just minutes in the day to us, and our lives don’t suck much more than folks who take the time to tell us how much they can’t imagine their lives sucking this much, and certainly not sucking as much as our Saints.

I'm a die hard Saints fan and I feel hope welling up inside me for my team. Kubiak is going to bring energy to this team. I have high hopes that if we draft well then we go on to a strong season in spite of DA. He's still a a damn fine defensive mind.
