Please refrain from personal insults. Feel free to post either your own opinions or fact based critiques of other peoples opinions, but leave out the 'haha thats so stupid because I said so' posts. Logically, I have every right to feel that a chronically underachieving phenom with injury and effort issues is a risky bet. If he balls out as some say, we are in the same predicament that Tampa Bay was in with Mayfield's new contact, where a contract year performance from a known unreliable commodity could paint us into a corner on feeling forced to give him a big contract we know is too risky. If it was just the injury, it could be a situation like when we signed Brees. If it was just the lack of production, maybe he never found the right fit for a team. But when you throw in the problems with effort too, its so easy to see a scenario here where its lose-lose. Either we flush $13 million down the toilet, or we think we hit the jackpot in 2024 and we flush $100 million down the toilet for 2025-2028 and he goes back to half assing it and taking 2 years to recover from injuries.
