Surprise Onside Kicks
With the recent news of the NFL rule change all but eliminating surprise onside kicks, coupled with overtime rule change from about 10 years ago, it begs the question: Is the NFL trying to eliminate everything that led to the Saints winning their one and only Super Bowl? Just putting it out there.

I doubt seriously that any of the rule changes had any thought as to the Saints whatsoever. The new kickoff configuration (which I love!) is what ends the surprise onside kick. The reason why it can no longer be a surprise is that you can still attempt the onside, but have to do it from the traditional configuration so there's no way it can be a surprise.

Surprise! The NFL adopted the XFL method when people saw that it worked better than the NFL rules.
