Re: DT Kristian Boyd
Of all the draft picks this is the one that doesn't impress me. He's a big boy but he the might not be the sharpest tool in the shed.
Oh well, please prove me wrong big boy. Please. |

Re: DT Kristian Boyd
They needed a NT. He will get his shot. Teammates love him.

Re: DT Kristian Boyd
I hope that I didn't give Boyd enough credit initially. If his team mates love him that is usually a good sign of a man who works hard and puts in the time necessary to get better. Apparently, the Saints had a big problem with that last year because there were some rumblings about players not studying and spending enough time on their tablets. It showed when game time came around too with busted assignments and players running the wrong routes later in the year. I guess that's what happens when the students don't respect the substitute teacher.
I fully expect Kubiak to instill accountability to the offense and the defense will follow suit hopefully. We desperately needed an Alpha in the building. Kubiak may be a quiet man but I have a feeling that he runs a very tight ship. |

Re: DT Kristian Boyd
Sometimes, I get influenced by one pundits opinion when I'm researching new Saints acquisitions. I believe I was too hasty with my judgement about DT Kristin Boyd and I may have been very wrong when I said I wasn't impressed with the rookie. Where is the best place to order crow online? If it's unavailable maybe someone could point me to a site with roast falcon!
Since then I've gotten a much better feel for Kristin Boyd and what he brings to the table. He has a great chance at making the final 53. Oh well, I hope I was wrong. Hey, there's a first for everything! Why not start today? The more I watch this guys interviews that more impressed I am with him. He's straight forward when he speaks. He seems really thoughtful, sharp, and crisp when he answers questions. It's refreshing to see someone honestly answer questions and not use stock answers provided by their agent that they have been trained to parrot. Oh yes, he's got all the measurables of an impact player. He played for five seasons with the added covid year. Boyd only had 13 sacks but he had 60 QB pressures and held up well when playing in the postseason against higher levels of competition. He can play the 3 technique and plays with great leverage for someone with his size and power. He commands double teams on a regular basis with a formidable base set and as a pass rusher, he continually collapses the pocket. He needs work on his lateral movement in both pass protection and run blocking, which is essential in Klint Kubiaks system. Brian Bresee is going to feast next to Boyd when he gets his feet under him. Saunders and Shepard both left plays on the field last year that they could and should have finished and this man could give us some much needed competition to get the big boys motivated again. Boyd sounds like he is a hard worker and film studying/technician whose coaches really love him. Apparently, he is always working to get better and asks tons of good questions. I could see him getting in early reps in with the ones in training camp if he can pick up the playbook. |
