So no championship?

What about signing Connor Williams and moving him to Guard?

Honestly wouldn't hate having Peat back.

Devil you know...

He was good for the local economy with all the sammiches he ate.

Peat is a very puzzling issue at this point. This guy has had little to no interest in the free agent market. Was Peat part of the locker room cancer that was somewhat mentioned after last season was completed? Could be too that Peat was told to keep quiet and that the Saints will bring him back? Who knows at this point. What we do know is there is a ton of work to get the o-line in order, it will be interesting to see how this all plays out.

Or just maybe the Saints front office no longer wants to throw out 5M+ & have the mindset to develop Trevor P on the left side?

As others have mentioned, Andrus played well in 2023 so he may be OUT of the Saints price range. The new guy (Lemiuex) they recently signed has a lot of experience in run zone blocking. Maybe that is a plus with Kubiak’s system? I wanted Mechi Becton but I see the Eagles scooped him up a few days ago.

At this point who knows if Peat is even on the Saints radar.

This is by far the quietest offseason I can remember.

Are these circadian or crickets I hear?

Win now at any cost worked when you had a HoF QB. Now, all we have to show for it is an annual bloated cap number and team of declining vets.

I get the impression Allen has moved on from Peat...

These guys may not be exciting and likely aren't as good as Peat but it's telling nonetheless.

Dennis Allen said after the NFL draft that the New Orleans Saints had not filled all of their needs, adding he anticipated the team to dip back into free agency.

The Saints didn’t wait long.

New Orleans agreed to terms with guard Shane Lemieux and tackle Justin Herron on Monday, a source with knowledge of the situation said. The expected signings give New Orleans more help along the offensive line and come after the Saints added two tackles in the draft. The Saints drafted Oregon State’s Taliese Fuaga in the first round and Eastern Kentucky’s Josiah Ezirim in the seventh.

Lemieux and Herron have been mostly backups, but they have some starting experience.

Lemieux, a 2020 fifth-round pick out of Oregon, started 12 of 18 career games for the New York Giants. But the 26-year-old has played sparingly since his first season when he logged nine starts in 12 games.

Injuries have heavily affected his career as he’s had three straight seasons cut short because of various ailments. Lemieux, 6-foot-4 and 310 pounds, is coming off a torn biceps after dealing with a torn patella and aggravated toe that landed him on injured reserve in 2021 and 2022.

The Saints were in search of another guard after starter James Hurst’s retirement. Hurst announced his plans a day before the draft last week, though he and team officials said they were aware of the retirement for much longer.

Herron also has dealt with injuries. A sixth-round selection in 2020, the former New England Patriots lineman started six of 12 games as a rookie, but his season was affected by an ankle injury that landed him on injured reserve for four weeks in November.

In 2022, Herron was traded to the Las Vegas Raiders only for his first season with his new team to be cut short by a torn ACL. He returned a year later but suffered a concussion in his first regular-season game back. Herron played just 16 offensive snaps across six contests for the Raiders, who cut him in December.
