Re: WWL 2024 Saints Draft Recap

When I sit back and take off the rose colored glasses it looks like we found great value in every round of the draft even if they don't all hit. Initially, this looks like a draft to compare to 2017. The difference is that this year we only had two draft picks in the top 150 unlike 2017 when we had several top 100 picks. We still found what look like solid developmental players and we never reached for a player.

In two or three years we'll be grateful for this draft. We should find several starters and role players looking to solidify their role. We filled most of our needs in the draft and again we picked up some UDFA's with potential to round out he roster. We actually filled several holes with quality prospects where we needed depth desperately.

Saying this draft "looks like a draft to compare to 2017" before any player has taken the field is practically the definition of rose colored classes. That was a historically great draft because of how the players performed after taking the field. No draft can compare until results are in and such results can never be taken for granted. Its like saying that "taking off the rose colored glasses" Spencer Rattler is the next Tom Brady of 5th Round QB picks and the 2024 Saints are looking like the 2009 Saints.

Wearing rose colored glasses doesn't have any detrimental affect on our team or its future performances. Why the injected negativity?

I can only imagine how difficult Football and LIFE would be for you, if you could see and experience things as they actually are. At least I understand you better now.

I've got my rose colored glasses on and the world looks beautiful. If I take them off then the world looks pretty bad. So, why not just leave them on and enjoy life rather than worrying about every little thing the whole time when you don't control the future?

The Saints are a huge part of my life but I don't own them and I am not the GM. So, I don't really have that much input on their direction. I'll be a Saints fan long after I'm gone. Win or lose the Saints are my team! I'll just leave my rose colored glasses on and get a new prescription for training camp each and every year. :bng:

If you (like quido) believe that the fan (the customer) doesn’t have that much input on the quality of the product or service being provided, you just may be among the fans (customers) who are at least partially responsible for what the rest of us must endure.

Yep. I'm to blame for all of this....

I said “partially”. 😜 The bulk of the blame rests with an out of touch ownership, that trickles down into overall mismanagement of a mediocre team.

I know you were making a point and not at my expense. I agree that we need to make a statement. If I go to a game this year I'm bringing a poster to tell them how I feel about whatever their current record is when I get there. ;)Hopefully it says keep winning boys.....not fire Dennis Allen.
