this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; The team should be paying for everything and should own its own stadium or rent from local government. No public money should ever go to a sports team, at least while there is any poverty,public works etc that needs sorting ...

Funny how all Sport teams owners would be very much opposed to any type of handouts until it adds to their own wealth or value of their sports teams. |

I counted 20 dates booked on the Domes schedule for the REMAINING 2024 CALENDAR YEAR, 11 not associated with the Saints. So after the Saints pay their annual lease payment, pay for the Dome upgrades I’m sure the City/State will share all the revenue generated with the Saints … Yeah that’s the ticket.

Given the fact that Super Bowls can only be held at NFL host cities, New Orleans and the State of Louisiana would be standing to lose that amount once every six or seven years on average if they were to ever lose the Saints. Let's not forget just regular game revenue year to year.
The Superdome is a cash cow for the city and state and they know it. |
