Based on what I’ve heard from reporters after a full week of padded practices, I think the Saints need to acquire a quality WR. Doesn’t appear as if Perry is ready to take his game to the next level just yet. Can’t rely on the injured guys.

Juwan is out & the only reliable 3rd down option is AK.

If Olave (not a big guy) is out for any amount of time, we’re in trouble.

If Olave and Shaheed were to miss the entire season, our wide receiving corps would only be as good at the reigning super bowl champs.

Honestly I think when a team is more in a stage of being several players away than one player away from Super Bowl contention, it is a smarter play to give your young players a chance to step up and build something for the future than to trade assets and spend cap money for fill in solutions to 'win now'. Any veteran receiver we got would be some other teams castaway and have a higher floor but a lower ceiling than a young player. If our young players can't live up to the chance, we can bring in other young players who will play for the minimum, and if they all fail we will get a higher draft pick.

Ultimately Carr is not paid the money he is paid to say 'sorry I could not do anything because the #3 WR was not good enough.' Others QBs like Rodgers and Mahomes have got it done with garbage #1 receivers. Our 2021 squad had Callaway as the #1 WR and now Callaway is so low on Carr's depth chart he is a camp body.

All these injuries are not great. I guess our strength coach is more focused on 34yo Taysom Hill's olympic power lifting career.

Salient points. Our consistently troublesome injuries (which have too easily become an excuse for losing) are a direct reflection of the mismanagement of our strength and conditioning team, just like having Derek Carr as our QB and Dennis Allen as our Head Coach, is a direct reflection of our mismanagement at the highest levels.

Per Allen, no Rasheed at practice today.

Dealing with tightness in hamstring.
