IS DENNIS ALLEN STILL HERE?
D.A. on Taysom Hill: "He's gonna do a lot of stuff. He's gonna run routes from in line, out wide, out of the backfield, he's going to block, he's going to run the ball out of the backfield, I think he's going to do a lot of stuff. He's going to line up at the QUARTERBACK position at some point in time…”
As much as I love watching Taysom Hill whenever and where ever he is on the field, the swiss army knife is being used (and abused) to compensate for shortcomings and inconsistencies in areas that we are simply inable or unwilling to address and solidify. At best, if you want to continue to use him as a “Secret Weapon”, best not to announce it to everyone beforehand, but D.A. will never be mistaken for someone who has read Sun Tzu. He’s basically telling us that he’s not sure of our identity as a team. And he’s barely smart enough to know that Carr is “Meh”… and that we lack direction and development in the many areas that he is mismanaging. He’s willing to announce that he’ll throw possibly the most passionate and dedicated player to ever wear a Saints uniform under many buses if need be, to compensate for our lack of identity and focus. Taysom Hill is no young spring chicken anymore, and I’d hate to see him get hurt after being used and abused by an absolutely inept excuse for a Head Coach. |

Re: IS DENNIS ALLEN STILL HERE?
Hill should be nothing more than a 5 touch a game guy when there is contact involved. Yes, Hill can dominate a game but when this is done he becomes very ineffective for long stretches. Kamara is pretty much in the same boat, for him maybe 10 to 15 touch max when contact is involved. Trying to continue using Hill and Kamara to carry the offense is going to make for a very long season.

Re: IS DENNIS ALLEN STILL HERE?
Play calling will be so predictable... just like back in the day when all the Saints did was, big dude right, then big dude left, then maybe pass, then punt.... BORING :beatnik:

Why does having a "jack of all trades" especially when a matchup dictates OR injuries occur, mean the offense doesn't have an identity? |
Re: IS DENNIS ALLEN STILL HERE?
I’m pretty sure Hill wants and will take as many snaps as he can get. Regardless of position. He’s a football player. He wants to play. As long as he can produce, allow him the opportunities to produce.
I’m confused why this is an issue of topic. The player wants to play. If he can be a difference maker, it’s a win. Good grief. |
Re: IS DENNIS ALLEN STILL HERE?
I'm going to tell some of you guys a little secret... just don't go telling everyone just yet. We hired a new offensive coordinator this off season.

Yes. He's still here. Kubiak seems to have brought in an Alpha type who is changing the team dynamics. As a loyal fan I'm not going to complain until they make me. Come on. Let's have fun and enjoy the season.

Re: IS DENNIS ALLEN STILL HERE?
To be fair, I really can't really form an opinion if Dennis Allen is a good head coach or not. That roster is not very strong or deep, and the salary cap situation isn't going to allow for a quick fix anytime soon. Kubiak is going to bring some very needed changes to the offensive, but with Carr at QB and a shaky o-line, I am not expecting any miracles.
As a fan it is my hope the Saints win 10 plus games and have at least a good playoff run. Realistically, the Saints come into the season with a win expectation of 7.5, if I was forced to bet my life savings I would have to take the under on that. The real question becomes what happens to Dennis Allen either way? Of course if the Saints win 10 he isn't going anywhere. What about 8 or 9 wins, or what happens if it's 5, 6 or 7 wins, does he keep his job or gets fired? |

The last tie in the NFL was Giants/Commanders in 2022. The Commanders finished 8-8-1 with a even .500 record. The Saints last year were 9-8 with a .529 winning percentage, and the Succs in 2022 were 8-9 with a .471 winning percentage. Since 8-8-1 is bracketed between the two, the tie counts for half a win. And it's made a difference too. The Steelers in 2021 were 9-7-1. Because of the tie, they took the last playoff spot over the Dolphins and the Colts who both finished 9-8. Those two finished with a .529 winning percentage while the Steelers finish with a .559. So a team that's 7-9-1 would have 7.5 wins. SFIAH |

“Worst team of all time” is a stretch. Not a Cowherd fan either.
Long, difficult road ahead though. We’ll see. |
Re: IS DENNIS ALLEN STILL HERE?
Cowturd is a blowhard at best. This team is at worst better than what we fielded last season that went 9-8. I stopped listening when the guy said Cowturd called us the worst team of all time. Shows you how full of crap the moron (Cowturd) is.
