IS DENNIS ALLEN STILL HERE?

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; D.A. on Taysom Hill: "He's gonna do a lot of stuff. He's gonna run routes from in line, out wide, out of the backfield, he's going to block, he's going to run the ball out of the backfield, I think ...

IS DENNIS ALLEN STILL HERE?

D.A. on Taysom Hill: "He's gonna do a lot of stuff. He's gonna run routes from in line, out wide, out of the backfield, he's going to block, he's going to run the ball out of the backfield, I think he's going to do a lot of stuff. He's going to line up at the QUARTERBACK position at some point in time…”

As much as I love watching Taysom Hill whenever and where ever he is on the field, the swiss army knife is being used (and abused) to compensate for shortcomings and inconsistencies in areas that we are simply inable or unwilling to address and solidify. At best, if you want to continue to use him as a “Secret Weapon”, best not to announce it to everyone beforehand, but D.A. will never be mistaken for someone who has read Sun Tzu.

He’s basically telling us that he’s not sure of our identity as a team. And he’s barely smart enough to know that Carr is “Meh”… and that we lack direction and development in the many areas that he is mismanaging. He’s willing to announce that he’ll throw possibly the most passionate and dedicated player to ever wear a Saints uniform under many buses if need be, to compensate for our lack of identity and focus. Taysom Hill is no young spring chicken anymore, and I’d hate to see him get hurt after being used and abused by an absolutely inept excuse for a Head Coach.

Hill should be nothing more than a 5 touch a game guy when there is contact involved. Yes, Hill can dominate a game but when this is done he becomes very ineffective for long stretches. Kamara is pretty much in the same boat, for him maybe 10 to 15 touch max when contact is involved. Trying to continue using Hill and Kamara to carry the offense is going to make for a very long season.

Play calling will be so predictable... just like back in the day when all the Saints did was, big dude right, then big dude left, then maybe pass, then punt.... BORING

Taysom is a matchup nightmare for some LBs and most CB, Safeties.

Why does having a "jack of all trades" especially when a matchup dictates OR injuries occur, mean the offense doesn't have an identity?

Re: IS DENNIS ALLEN STILL HERE?

I’m pretty sure Hill wants and will take as many snaps as he can get. Regardless of position. He’s a football player. He wants to play. As long as he can produce, allow him the opportunities to produce.

I’m confused why this is an issue of topic. The player wants to play. If he can be a difference maker, it’s a win. Good grief.

I'm going to tell some of you guys a little secret... just don't go telling everyone just yet. We hired a new offensive coordinator this off season.

If Kubiak shuffles the cards just favorable enough for us to make .500, and Dennis Allen gets to flex his line lips barely loud enough to keep his job, and Derek Carr gets to be Derek Carr for yet another year, I guess we can blame our mediocrity on injuries again?
