I put Haener more in that game managing type quarterback. The Trent Dilfer, Rich Gannon type. He's probably the safer bet should Carr miss an extended amount of time. He won't hurt you too bad but we wouldn't be able to rely on his arm to win football games. There's nothing wrong with that if you have a strong defense and a good running game. His arm might actually fit Kubiak's offense better.
With that said, I didn't see much of Haener in college so I could be limiting Haener's upside.

That's just it ... he was Joe Montana-esque at Fresno St with his late game heroics. He did an interview with Mariucci that opened some eyes.

Maybe, maybe not... friendly reminder who was QB coach and OC last year.

I think both are superior to Carr, TBH. It's too late in the QB career game for Carr to have a Rich Gannon renaissance awakening.
