Two very different quarterbacks. If there was a must in game against a superior team where our chances of winning were marginal, I'd want Rattler in there. He has the arm talent to carry an offense on it's back. Between the two, if anyone is going to pull a horseshoe out their ass, it's him. His struggle has always been maintaining any level of consistency. High risk, high reward, low floor player.
I put Haener more in that game managing type quarterback. The Trent Dilfer, Rich Gannon type. He's probably the safer bet should Carr miss an extended amount of time. He won't hurt you too bad but we wouldn't be able to rely on his arm to win football games. There's nothing wrong with that if you have a strong defense and a good running game. His arm might actually fit Kubiak's offense better. With that said, I didn't see much of Haener in college so I could be limiting Haener's upside. |
