Pete Werner Extension Signed
https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profoo...te-werner-deal
What do you think? Very similar new money to Kaden Ellis’s deal last year. Elliss has much better PFF ratings the last two years so I think the Falcons got a better deal. But at least this is a young relatively affordable player with upside. But could this be another Granderson or Ruiz type meh deal if he has another off year, sure. We seem to have a strong habit of locking up medium caliber players like Granderson, Ruiz, Johnson, and Werner. So far no home runs with those deals but also no total disasters. I would have favored more incentives for good play and no guarantees for 2026 but I dont see this contract as a disaster like Carr or Jordan. I like bigger incentives and less guarantees so we can cut bait if they drop off and they will be less likely to hold out if they overperform. |

Re: Pete Werner Extension Signed
I think it's a smart signing. Get ahead of the market and prepare for life after Demario. Gay will impress this year and next in line to earn a long term contract.

Good deal. He's young enough where if we do decide to rebuild in the near future, he can still be a part of that. We should have kept Elliss as well. I'm still disappointed he let him leave.
