Saints Joint Practice With 49er's Cancelled

It appears that the 49er's have too many injuries to take part in a joint practice. Can you say candy asses?

Rosters are getting decimated across the league. Knock on wood here, but we've been fortunate not to lose any key players for the season.

Seriously, this sucks because those joint practices are way, way, way more valuable than any preseason game.

At least we still get to play them. With all the injuries Penning may get abused by their 4th string DE.

Scrimmages are where you get to see your roster in detail. Sorry they won't get to drill them more.

Yup. I've heard several coaches say they would love to replace the preseason games with organized scrimmages where they can selectively target facets of the game that need work. Many of those never occur in the average random preseason game.

I can see that. The opposing coaches can decide to just say "Okay, let's take turns in a 2 minute drill scenario", "Let's work on Red Zone" etc, etc.
