I think we moved on, and I hope we don't have to take him back. The dude only played like 19 games since his injury in 2020. And he made A LOT OF MONEY and popped our cap for years. Heck, he's probably costing us against our cap NOW.

Re: Hmmmm.. What Team Signed Michael Thomas

I think he has a value, maybe $2-4 million at most, but I would only sign him to a team that is a second tier championship contender needing one more star to have a shot to win it all and could win now if a very high risk gamble pays off. I would put his odds at playing a full year if signed under 10% but perhaps there is a 20-30% chance he could hold up for an 8 game stretch at the end of the year. All this could make it smarter for contenders to wait and see and pick him up late in the year if they really need help at receiver. This could be smarter for Thomas too because if he does hold up for 6-8 games at the end of the year on a 1 year deal, some sucker team could give him a bigger deal in the offseason. I dont know if any team will take the character risk on him, but say the 49ers lose Kittle or the Eagles lose Brown down the stretch but are otherwise top contenders, I think getting Thomas for $2.5 million prorated in week 12 or something like that could be worth the small chance that a change of scenery presents a renaissance.

The Chargers are hard up at receiver and Harbaugh cares so little about distractions he offered Kaepernick a coaching gig. The Jets could use another receiver, Rodgers is such a distraction that they may have nothing to lose, and Thomas is probably the type of receiver who has the best chance to rebound under a QB who excels at ball placement. I hope MT signs somewhere because I want to see if he succeeds or fails from an entertainment perspective.

I also think Thomas’ situation is where Kamara could be next year if he struggles this year after getting suspended, declining, and demanding a raise.

Isn't this like asking "what type of cancer would you like"?

Yep. Along with 25 other players.

Get it right. Kamara was not and is not "demanding a raise". He said he has no problem at all with his current contract. He wants a separate extension so he is guaranteed to retire a Saint after a few more years. He said if he doesn't get an extension he'll retire "and move to Africa" instead of playing for another team.
