Re: Week Three: Eagles @ Saints

Apparently Lattimore lobbied heartily to play versus the Cowboys but Dennis Allen made him sit. Allen said it pissed Lattimore off, but playing it safe could turn what could have been a four week injury into missing one week. Sounds like Lattimore is a go against the Eagles.

Re: Week Three: Eagles @ Saints

Derek Carr has a chance to place himself among the elite vs. Eagles

Derek Carr has a chance to make history on Sunday against the Philadelphia Eagles, accomplishing something only four players at his position have done. Carr has an opportunity to become the fifth quarterback in NFL history to pass for at least two touchdowns and maintain a passer rating of 100-plus in seven consecutive games.

..................................

The only other players to have accomplished this in their careers are Peyton Manning, Tom Brady, Aaron Rodgers and Patrick Mahomes.

..................................

Since Week 15 of the 2023 season, Carr is first in the NFL in passing touchdowns, passer rating and completion percentage, and is looking to continue this impressive streak this Sunday.

Looks like current Odds makers are giving the Saints 3. But many of the prognosticators are still giving the edge to the Eagles coming off of that stupid loss on MNF.

They have some new shiny things to play with like Saquon, but they're missing AJ Brown for this game and they are coming to the Thunderdome.

From what I saw on MNF, they aren't ready for this squad on either side of the ball.

Saints 34-16

No matter what, this is going to be a great game. Week 3 and we are on fire. We win this one convincingly and we will be seemingly unstoppable. I got a good feeling.

Realistically, based on what we've seen so far, not many teams can keep up with the Saints new offense. Historically, the way to stop a vaunted offense is to keep it on the sidelines by running the football and chewing clock. Can Philly accomplish that? Besides Hurt, who can threaten Saints' defense enough. Hurt can't do it all. At some point he'll be forced to throw it relentlessly to play catch up. The next true test will be KC and Mahomes, IMHO, maybe a preview of the SB, baring injuries. That's a jinx thought in itself if there ever was one. Still, we cannot deny the results so far. Neither can the rest of the league, although they try.

It almost sounds like a foreign language when you hear how “THE SAINTS” comes sputtering out of the mouths of talking heads right about now, almost like they’re asking the question, “the SAINTS?” Yep. Say it.
