I don't understand how a team that scored 91 points in 2 weeks, are now struggling to even get a first down

It’s hard to win any football game. My pop used to say..”A team is never really as good as they look while winning and never as bad as they look while losing.”

I used to scratch my head on that one but I think I get it now.
