this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; Seven year veteran guard/tackle Chris Reed has started 30 games and played in 70. He spent his last two years with the Vikings. Twitter I doubt this is the last move we'll be making....

Re: Saints Add Offensive Line Depth
Shane Lemieux played extensively at center during the preseason, I believe.

Re: Saints Add Offensive Line Depth
With ‘thin’ free agent market, Saints opt for internal replacement after McCoy lands on IR
From article above ... By adding Lemieux to the 53-man roster, the Saints signaled they're willing to attempt to replace McCoy internally rather than bring someone off the street to play center. Part of that rationale may be because of the lack of options available. New Orleans Saints general manager Mickey Loomis called the free agent market for offensive linemen "pretty thin" in a recent radio interview with WWL. "There was a number of offensive line injuries, not just this last weekend, but in the prior two weekends," Loomis said. "That pool of players has been depleted." ----------------------------------------------- This jives with what I have been hearing. In an already thin offensive line talent pool, the rash of injuries to OL's across the entire league has resulted in a historic shortage of quality replacements. |

Re: Saints Add Offensive Line Depth
I just heard on NFL Radio that there are currently 92 offensive linemen that have either been placed on IR or injured and not expected to play in week four with IR still pending on several of them. That's an average of almost three offensive linemen for every franchise in the league out injured.
Just let that sink in. |

Re: Saints Add Offensive Line Depth
If Philly could come into our house and do that to us, you would THINK that we could go into Atlanta and take care of business. If we don’t, the NFC SOUTH and the rest of the season is going to get real funky.
