DONE

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; I'm not as down on them as most. I still think we win the devision and would not be surprised at all if we beat the Chiefs. I have hated the fact we lost Payton and it was obvious Roger ...

I have hated the fact we lost Payton and it was obvious Roger had it out for us but it was the refs that made me lose my passion. Now I don't feel like refs are out to screw us and this Saints team just feels different than last year. I predict 2 to 3 more losses and I've been with low expectations since Allen took over. I’ll admit I thought the game was over when they turned it over on downs in the 4th quarter. Then I was stoked we actually scored and took the lead. But in the pit of my stomach I had a feeling Koo was gonna convert a long FG to win it.

That said, I really hope they right the ship. But I don’t eat, sleep and **** Saints football right now.

I do enjoy this place and discussing the games. I understand people having to bow out because it can be quite gut wrenching.

Maybe next week.

Re: DONE

Not making the necessary adjustments after last week’s embarrassment at home against the eagles, injuries not withstanding (injuries plague other teams too, but they find a way to WIN), the Saints just showed everybody that we are what they THOUGHT we were. I can’t even call what happened today “mediocre”.

My join date says '09 or something... I've been a fan since birth, however... My mom would go to the games with the 'ole paper bag.

I knew, and felt it. ****lanta would march on down to kick a field goal for the win. Sure enough after the PI it was basically done...

That horribly muffed punt had me saying, "ah, we'll be fine." Yet in the back of my head I was thinking ****, this isn't going to be easy, we can over come that... While still having a voice say, the Saints are gonna lose this now. WE SEE IT ALL THE TIME.

Screw Rodger Goodell and what he's done to football. I haven't watched football in years besides my Saints. Even that is getting really hard to watch. Oh well, next week we have another shot.

When in Mandeville, swing by and we can share a beer or two.

Re: DONE

My fandom fell off a cliff when I decided that I would no longer pay the ransom for Sunday Ticket which became more expensive than a coke habit. I live in Houston and do not know how to be a fan of any other franchise and it is difficult to follow a team that you can not 'follow closely'.

My visits here became less frequent when a good bit of the content was no longer viewable. Forums are fading away and being replaced by facebook groups etc... Forum activity is huge in attracting new members as well as funding the page (this place is not free by any means). While it is very much a perception thing, it is still a thing. One massive generalized thread looks no where near as active as a dozen recently created topic specific threads by different people. When that one generalized thread is created by a caustic member that many have on ignore present members look elsewhere so that they do not have to be subjected to that individual. vBulletin's (the platform this is on) does not do blocking (similar to Peat) and has an insufficient ignore function.

To be clear, caustic people are not people that disagree with you. They are the people that turn a critique of the team into a personal, drama filled, ordeal.

These boards have a long commendable history of being hands off. As much as that is a favorable characteristic, it does take its toll on members that just want to talk and read about the team.

Halo, Smash, whom ever else may be doing the day to day have done a very good job of providing this space for us, but that's where their abilities stop. We, the members, are the personality and culture of this place and we consistently fail to maintain any semblance of decorum or maturity.
