Re: Haener or Rattler

At this point of the season the majority of people around here had the Saints at 2-3 or 1-4 based up the scheduled teams. Given the rash of injuries to the offensive line primarily it's not surprising where we are right now. From this point on we have the easiest stretch with our remaining schedule. I am by no means counting us out of a playoff run as we get players back. I'm also expecting a win this Sunday to start that run. Rattler gives us the best bet to avoid the pressure caused by o-line injuries. Our receivers are getting open. They just need the time to be targeted. Rattler can buy that time with his legs. He's also more prone to make mistakes than Carr, however.

Rattler it is... I wonder, though... Is his jersey number a jinx in the making ? It's Dave Wilson's old jersey number for those who have forgotten.

Is He? Yes, I'm sure he is on paper, as an untested rookie. That goes without saying. But the mistakes a green rookie makes are often more understandeable. But most of the mistakes a highly paid veteran makes, are unforgivable. I'm excited to see what he can do.

Excited can’t even describe me right now. I’m overjoyed and optimistic. I’m just not happy with what I’ve seen from Carr. Jameis looked better in his 2021 stint than Carr has over these past two years…and that’s with them putting the reigns on him. At this point we would have been better off keeping him for the cheap.

Why is it that when the Saints have to play a rookie backup quarterback, we make him look like the second coming of Joe Montana, but when the Saints have to play OUR backup rookie QB, the opposing team makes him look like exactly that, a rookie backup quarterback!

I believe that's an overblown sense of misremembrance by battered Saints fans. I read something within the last year that showed we actually have a very good record against rookie QB's over the last several years. It was an article showing that perception wasn't true, at least not recently.

They couldn’t put enough lithium in my cereal to make me take that ^ seriously.

I was hoping Haener, but lets see what Rattler has. Oh well another season lost.

It's not a season long thing and he could pull us through in the short term. Have faith, my friend.
