In order to save $5 million cap or so and get a draft pick. We are going nowhere this year anyway. Young is a free agent anyway. We arent going to franchise tag him. If he gets a big contract we are not paying him. If he is willing to sign for a reasonable amount, trading him now does nothing to prevent signing him in March 2025. We could theoretically trade him for a pick, save $5 million now, and sign him in March. |
