If Gayle truly cared, she'd do what's right. But they are still making money, so why would she care about the product on the field?
Thank you.

We aren't basement dwellers now. We're at 2-6 right now playing with primarily backups. That can happen under any regime. But we're getting healthier and coming into the easiest half of our schedule. There are many teams that are in worse shape than we are at this moment.

As for Gayle, she does what most owners should do and that is leaving football to the football people. She's there supporting the team (I see her at all the home games for sure), but she doesn't make the football decisions.

As for making money, the revenue sharing structure of the league guarantees every owner makes money win, lose, or draw. She has no more or no less motivation than any other owner in the league as far as that goes.

I just can't buy into Gayle Benson being the problem. And she married Tom Benson the New Orleans Saints were flying high Tom Benson's will dictates having teams run. Gayle Benson does not know football. She was not from a football family. She did not play football. She married a football owner. This is not Gayle's fault.

If a product or service $ucks for a long time, the OWNER has the ultimate responsibility to either correct it, or go OWN something else.

What would expect him to say? While you can place the injury bug in large part, it still is no excuse for crappy product currently being presented. Other teams go through this, maybe not to this degree, but the drop-off in performance is hideous. Injuries should only by you a little time, at some point the excuse rings on deaf ears.

Reason, not excuse. The drop-off in performance is most likely due to the lack of preparation coupled with the inferior talent of 2nd, 3rd, and 4th string replacements. Every single game in this streak we've had no fewer than a half dozen players that haven't had more than two or three (limited) days of snaps with the 1st string. All continuity has been thrown out the window. There is ultimately a point of greatly diminished returns. Replacing two or three players can be accomplished with limited negative affects. The same cannot be said for replacing 40% of the starters. We've been seeing pretty much what I was expecting regardless of my "rosy" rhetoric.

There are currently ten teams in the league with the same or fewer wins as the Saints. That's a 3rd of the league and all have been affected more or less by the same issues we have faced as a team.

I do understand, however, that this doesn't make it any easier to stomach for many fans. I'll assure you that it doesn't make it any easier to stomach for the players, coaches, and front offices either. Unfortunately they all know that there's no easy immediate solution.
