Pro Football is a violent contact driven sport.
It's been said that every NFL Player deals with managing some sort of injury or another every single game.

So the question I pose is a simple one:

At what point (if ever) during a losing season do players pull a Ricky Waters and say, "For who? For what?" and just mail it in when they aren't feeling like making the sacrifice?

Or is it just appearances in the minds of frustrated fans?
