Saints fire Dennis Allen.
After 7 straight losses, Dennis Allen was fired. A season that started with two blowout wins has now turned to disaster after seven straight losses.

Now start the fire sale!

Lattimore. Love you and hope you get a shot at a ring this season.

Young. Better served on another team.

Who else?

Blow it up. Loomis next?

Who's gonna be the interim?

Oh, and it looks like I was wrong about Gayle not firing him in season. I guess a 7 game losing streak will make that happen.

Thank goodness. I have to give Mickey a bit of credit. I thought he was going to stall until the end of the season. We need to start fresh, and if Mickey doesn't see that he'll need to go/retire too.

Perhaps we can get new team doctors or trainers? I'm so tired of having half the roster injured.

At first, although I knew it was overdue i always feel bad when a coach get's whacked, but then I remember they are paid very well, they now get a long vacation and most know getting whacked is a possibility in the profession. It was long overdue, but now hopefully we can start the rebuild.

Don't stop there.

Mickey Loomis needs to step aside.

Time for fresh ideas at GM.

Anyone and I do mean anyone could’ve won more games than this idiot! Carr needs to go and we need to trade every expensive piece we have and get picks and line help on both sides of the ball! We’ve wasted almost three years now! Do not call Nick Saban or Bill Bellichek either!

I might be okay with Bellichek...

My guess would be Carr is playing his last season in a Saints jersey. Now that his daddy is gone. "Ding Dong the witch is dead"

Actually i would be good with Aaron Glenn as a candidate for coaching us next year.

To be perfectly honest, I do feel bad for the guy. It’s hard to see anyone lose their job. However, I believe it’s time for both DA and the team to move on. I think he’ll land on his feet in Denver.

From reading snippets of Underhill's recent article (paid site), it may appear that it was Gayle Benson's decision to fire Allen.

Not Loomis.

Yeah he can step aside too.

Re: Saints Fire Dennis Allen

WHOA - BIG Saints news!

First off - the human side. I wish Dennis Allen the best. I have never been fired but I have been laid off 2x in life (the "it's not you, it's me" version of fired). This has to be a huge disruption to his personal life and not a pleasant thing.

That all being said...

The NFL is a business and coaches are paid astronomical salaries for results. Dennis has had an opportunity in NOLA in which he made lots of money and probably earned that opportunity due to his connections (Sean) and not his credentials (atrocious head coaching record).

Best wishes to Dennis - hope he catches on someone else and does well, but it was LONG PAST TIME for the Saints to part ways with him...

Bye Felicia!

DA was the architect of his own demise. Although I generally feel some regret when someone loses their job. Like being with a co-worker who does a half assed job while you work your butt off, I feel nothing but joy at this firing.

Let's lay the smack down on Atlanta! :bng:

No reason we can't fire the medical staff in season too.

Doesn't the medical staff come into play after a player is injured? Not much they can do to prevent injuries. It's a different story, however, when it comes to treatment. That is definitely on them.

Strength and conditioning too. All the above come into play. While some athletes are more predisposed than others with injuries, there is something to be said about proper preparation, nutrition, and conditioning (ask Tom Brady). And really as the game become softer, in other words, more like flag football, we ought to be seeing a trend toward fewer injuries. Except of course when a QB throws a WR into a risky catching situation rather than one whereby YACs can be had.
