1st Quarter was good.

Nice to beat the Falcons and dent their playoff hopes somewhat.

If we weren't so injured at CB, Taylor should ride the bench.

Alvin's a great player, but he needs to make that play with the game on the line. No excuses, that was awful.

Why did MVS get so many looks in the first half and zero in the second? The Falcons obviously couldnt stay with him.

Nice seeing Koo miss a bunch of kicks for once.

Is Rizzi okay? The way he was hanging onto one of the players after the game my wife and I thought he was having some type of episode.

Great to get the win! Forgotten what it felt like to get one! Lol!

Koo did us a favour too though!

But a win is a win and even better when its against the falcons! GEAUX SAINTS! :-)

I'm almost happier that the Falcons lost than that the Saints won.

Looks like Koo pooed too much.

Was Lattimore the cancer on the team? Kidding, of course.

I think the Falcons thought we were out of it and they would come into the Dome and wipe us out all over the place.

Didn't happen. Couldn't happen to a better opponent.

Derek Carr thanked DA in an on-field interview afterwards, saying he "helped build this"

Honestly, what is Carrs moronic infatuation with Dennis Allen??

I saw that too. I was thinking, my God man... Move on.

I guess he is saying it because DA was his coach with the Raiders?

Other than that, hopefully he meant defensively. DA did a hell of a job with the D.

This is the NFL. On any given day any team can win. The team that wanted it the most pulled it out even given everything against them.

Rest assured though, Rizzi was just fine. He told reporters afterwards that he just suffered a stinger when Turner punished him, causing his arm to briefly go numb.

This dude has a different feel from DA. The Saints coaching went from Catholic priest to Southern Baptist preacher... from Air Force Sergeant to Marine Sergeant in one week. Rizzi went as far as describing his clogged toilet before the game.

I love the passion he brings man. That’s badass!

Look, I want the Saints to have a great coach. One that’s fired up. Like this guy. Love it!

The players already respect him more than DA. That’s apparent. If they play for him, and win for him, then maybe we keep him where he’s at.

Carr has 150 million reasons to thank DA

Where was Derek Carr before the Saints. 2022 he was a 6-9 QB in the last year of his 3 year contract. Allen saved Carr's ass.

As far as for what Dennis Allen built? He put holes in the worlds most expensive ship and sunk it with Captain Carr at the wheel.

I've not had anything bad to say about Carr but if he is going to praise the Dennis Allen sh1t show, he can go to f***ing Atlanta.

Much like Dennis Allen did constantly here, Carr's comments just felt completely out of touch with the situation and bizarre.

Way to undermine your new head coach, by praising the one that everyone else hated and had us on a 7 game losing streak.

Alibi to this week's *****in' and Complainin':

Well deserved, Young Fella. Well deserved!

Kamara with the record
Cam with the sack
DEs especially Young and Turner showed up
Honey Badger with the pick
MVS is a burner
Trevor Penning with a top grade from PFF (!)

I don't see it as undermining at all, diz. I believe that most of the players truly liked Dennis Allen, but no longer believed in him. As many here have said, he was a really good to great coordinator, but sucked as a head coach. I see nothing wrong with any of the players saying good things about someone they really liked personally. I'll bet Rizzi likes Allen as a person, as well, but may have disagreed with how he ran things.

I'm kind of intrigued by Kevin Austin Jr.

He only made 2 catches, but they both converted 3rd downs from memory and the sideline catch on 3rd and 14 was very nice.

Luckily for us, Gayle saw sense. Because Mickey was never going to fire his BFF.

He's been out of college for over three years and those were his first ever NFL catches from what they said.

Penning has sure turned the corner! He's getting to be pretty rock solid on that RT! Can we put to bed the 'Bust' tag yet? Seems like he was a project with raw ability that just needed to be taught technique!

I seem to remember one or two around here that also had Ruiz labeled as a bust. I've said this before and I'll repeat, collegiate players, especially offensive linemen, are not being developed prior to making it to the NFL. NCAA rules limiting time with players to 20 hours per week (including gameday) have led to vanilla offensive and defensive schemes with little or no work on fundamentals. College coaches barely have time to get players ready to play, forget about getting them to play right.

I'll gladly eat a ton of crow if Penning strings together good performances. Admittedly, the Falcons pass rush is not their strong suit, so I think we need to see more, especially against a Browns team that has Myles Garrett.

Well i will give him that he has gone from being an absolute liability at LT to a serviceable RT. That is quite the turnaround.

I would like to see Penning used more to downblock while pulling Ruiz around to the outside. Penning is big and strong and could absolutely maul Grady Jarret if given a good angle. And Ruiz is athletic enough to get around and lead on the outside.

Re: Observations from Saints beating Dirty Birds

Well if penning has turned a corner then that sets up well for us in the draft to fulfill D-line needs and wait a round or 2 for O-line help. Not saying we shouldn’t be drafting O-line just hoping maybe it’s not the necessity we may have thought it was a few months ago.
