Re: Will the Saints beat the Giants
The Saints will probably beat the Giants on Sunday. No guarantees but we broke the bank to achieve a slightly higher level of mediocrity than the Giants and we will get what we paid for. Remember we are not 4-8 just by chance, we bought those 4 wins spending the most future salary cap to win now of any team in the NFL by far. We are flying first class to Mediocreville.
However, the Giants have won a Superbowl more recently than the Saints, have won a playoff game more recently the Saints, and are better positioned to win another playoff game, and another Superbowl before the Saints. Mickey Loomis' philosophies have been that there is no such thing as bad liquor and that the goal of an NFL football team is to be good enough to avoid a down year at all costs not to strive for greatness by taking risks on young players. The Giants swung and missed on Daniel Jones, but they will have another top pick QB soon and the cap space to build a great team if their next pick works out. The Saints will have RB who may be good enough for another year or two to combine with a known mediocre QB for .500 records if the ball bounces their way. |

Re: Will the Saints beat the Giants
I think we're stuck with Loomis for a while but I'm hoping that he graciously steps down from the Saints GM position. The gum chewing press conference, keeping Allen after last season and too long into this season, not understanding why there were so many Lions fans in the Superdome one year ago today, and suggesting that the Saints fans didn't know who MVS was but Loomis was so smart to bring MVS to the Saints after the Saints finally won a game after losing seven games in a row.
