this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; We literally needed to convert a 2 point conversion to win the game. Are you telling me they would have stopped us 100% of the time? IF you aren't telling me that, we could have won that game. If we ...

We literally needed to convert a 2 point conversion to win the game. Are you telling me they would have stopped us 100% of the time? IF you aren't telling me that, we could have won that game. If we are a playoff team we kick the pat and probably go to overtime and don't risk that there. I mean be honest, do you think winning that game helps us more long term than losing?

The second half was inspiring. I thought the decision to go for it was the right call. We lost the game and have a little bit better draft position because of it. I was satisfied with the outcome.

for me, yes. but then again, i am biased to winning. honestly..... how often is a 2 pt conversion successful....especially when the opposing team is fighting for the win?

I don't think that the decision greatly changes our odds of winning. The 2pt conversion is 50/50. Overtime is 50/50. Not a big difference. And either way I don't think we make the playoffs. If we win we are still a game behind the Falcons for 2nd place in the division who have an easier schedule than us the rest of the way, and the Falcons are not currently in line for the playoffs.

Honestly what OT would give us with our luck is an opportunity for another injury. Probably if we go to OT, Fuaga suffers a hip fracture on a freak play and missed the 2025 season.

Getting it over with, win or lose, was the right call in that situation.

I think Spencer Rattler has shown enough to supplant Derek Carr as the starter going forward.

Derek Carr would have never led that final drive that Rattler did.

He would have done that dumbass "oh there's a rusher, I'll run backwards and just heave a pass nowhere" thing he does at least 3 times every game

In one game? Carr is not good, but we saw Rattler before and they had to switch to Haener. We will see again, trying to be positive, but my gut tells me we will see a below par showing
