![]() Demario Davis is a man of faith.
So it was no surprise that he sermonized after the Saints’ loss to the Raiders on Sunday. Davis admitted the team is in a dark time right now and asked fans to have faith and trust the organization. He said they have the right people in place to turn things around and pleaded for patience and support. Davis’ comments were admirable. He was being what he’s been since he came here 7 years ago: a leader and loyal soldier. But as popular as Davis has been over the years, his message rang hollow. More here |

Re: Duncan Commentary: Fans have lost faith in the Saints
Seven years ago, that sermon might have been inspiring, but if good ol lady Gayle plans on taking us to the grave with her, that’s exactly where we’re going.

Re: Duncan Commentary: Fans have lost faith in the Saints
This was one of the worst seasons I can rememeber, and I was around when the Saints were a horrible team before Jim Mora.
Winning the first 2 games was euphoric because everyone felt this was really "it" and this team was unstoppable. Then the rug was pulled from under our feet. Week 3 loss was not bad because it was a worthy advisory. Week 4 against the Falcons was a heart wrencher - a game we should not have lost. The side was embarrassing. What was more embarrassing was listening to Mickey Loomis repeat his love for Dennis Allen, a man who should never be head coach. Loomis made fans feel trapped and hopeless. Gayle Benson gave us some hope, but Loomis still is there. That's why this season was one of the worst ever. Mickey Loomis orchestrated disaster. |

Re: Duncan Commentary: Fans have lost faith in the Saints
Demario's comments felt misguided and frankly condescending.
Telling people they need to not panic and that "some fans are family." It sounded like every word he was trying to preach came from Mickey Loomis himself. It's a shame, I liked Demario, but he's not the player he once was, we need to move on. |

Re: Duncan Commentary: Fans have lost faith in the Saints
The thing that is hard to parse is how much the injuries piling up should be cited as a reason for failure. Here is what I keep coming up with:
Under Payton, injuries piled up, but we often enough found a way to make the best out of a bad situation. Post Payton, we fall apart and seem to make the worst of a bad situation. Only one player all season has come through and been a revelation for us - Valdes-Scandling. That's it. To go through an entire season and only have 1 play step up is pathetic. |

To those "TRUE FANS" who've supported every "product" put on the field since 1967. You are a FOOL as well as a SUCKER!
A FOOL and his money, are soon parted! For the "TRUE FAN" it happens over and over and over and over and.......................! |

Re: Duncan Commentary: Fans have lost faith in the Saints
This is kind of off topic & deserves its own thread but ...
Someone needs to be asking those difficult questions about the future of this franchise. And "if" Gum smacking Mickey Loomis does step aside, they need to do better than simply elevating Mueller for the job. Tear this mess down. |
