Re: Observations from Saints loss at Bucs
Allowing or not preventing Evans from tying Rice’s record was smart. Our season was over, the game was over, and now the Bucs have $3 million less in future salary cap money in the future that does matter. $3 million is meaningful, it is a year of a player like Johnson, Moreau, Lutz, or some special teams ace or WR3/4 who could make a difference. Also its Jerry Rice’s record that got tied, and its not like Jerry Rice was any friend of the Saints. And its an 11 year 16-17 game record so nobody will care or remember that the last game was against us. Plenty of Rice’s yards were against us too. And nobody remembers who the 1000th yard in the 11th season for Rice was against, maybe us too? Plus Evans only tied the record and he needed 17 games to do it so that breaks the tie in Rice’s favor. Overall if we could cost our division rivals $3 million by allowing their #1 WR 85 yards in a way that did not effect the outcome of the game, I would do it every game. I wish there was a way we could have allowed 85 yards to London and Thielen and cost the Falcons and Panthers $3 million too.

Re: Observations from Saints loss at Bucs
Just picture Rob Schneider on The Waterboy yelling "Oh no, we suck!" That's how I feel these days watching Saints games. I have just checked out. I watch the games but I no longer let it affect my blood pressure. In fact, while the team has been doing so terribly I have actually cut back on my drinking. I know it seems like I am going against the natural order of watching your team lose.

Towards the end I just wanted to see the young QBs have a shot and see what they had. I didn’t expect them to win anything. Hell I forgot to even check the score of the Bucs game until after it was over. I was outside working on taking down a fence and moving a shed. |
