As of the latest information available:

Speculation and Interest: There has been significant speculation about Deion Sanders potentially coaching the New Orleans Saints. Various sources have linked Sanders with the Saints due to the team firing their head coach, Dennis Allen, and seeking a new leader. ESPN's Jeremy Fowler has noted that the Saints might be interested in hearing what Sanders has to say, suggesting they could reach out to him during their search for a new head coach.

Sanders' Stance: Deion Sanders has expressed that the only scenario in which he would consider leaving his current position at the University of Colorado for an NFL job is if he could coach both of his sons, Shedeur and Shilo Sanders. This condition adds a layer of complexity to any potential move to the NFL, as it would depend on where his sons end up, particularly Shedeur, who is projected to be a high draft pick.

Other Considerations:
Sanders has built a strong reputation at the college level, turning around the Colorado Buffaloes program. His success and charisma have made him a notable figure in coaching circles, leading to speculation about his next move.
However, his lack of direct NFL coaching experience might be a concern for some teams, although his playing career and understanding of the professional game could be seen as assets.
The Saints are looking for someone who can potentially bring a "splash" hiring, akin to what Sean Payton represented for them previously. Sanders' high profile fits this mold.

Final Decision: Given these points, while there's clear interest from the Saints and Sanders is being considered, the decision would hinge on several factors:
Sanders' willingness to leave college football for the NFL.
The alignment of his sons' NFL futures with the Saints or another team.
The Saints' evaluation of whether Sanders' coaching style, philosophy, and lack of NFL coaching experience align with their needs.

In summary, while there's a possibility, it's contingent on Sanders' personal conditions, team fit, and how the NFL coaching carousel plays out in relation to his sons. The situation is speculative, and no definitive commitment from either side has been publicly confirmed as of now.

If Sanders is hired I would no longer be able to follow the Saints. He is a horrible coach. He has done absolutely nothing but get his overrated son noticed. I would be ok with Flores, Brady, or Glenn. I would be open to others but those are the names floating around. I'd even be ok with Rizzi returning before Sanders

Yes, it was hard but I did. Sanders has done nothing. 4 total years coaching in college. One small and one mid level college. The dude could not win in a watered down Big 12. He sure wont win in the NFL. Show me any form of proof he deserves a chance and I'll change my mind. Any form whatsoever.

He led a team that hasn’t won more than 5 games since 2016 to
9 wins. They were 1-11 the year before he got there.

Jackson State was 4-8. He led them to an 11-2 record in year 1 and a conference championship. He’s definitely won and amassed talent quickly everywhere he went. We gotta stop discrediting people because we don’t like their personality.

I loved how Sanders came into Colorado. He flipped the culture and made people a LOT of money - including himself. But let's look at Sanders' coaching record:

vs FBS 10-10
vs non FBS 28-6
vs Top 25 1-6

He lost both bowl games at Jackson State

I'm not suggesting he won't be successful at the NFL level as a Head Coach, just that it may be a stretch to think he should be.

Just ask Nick Saban what that's like.

9 wins in a conference who lost a majority of the winning teams to other conferences. They went to the bowl game and got smoked by BYU. They played 2 ranked teams and lost both. They beat 2 teams that had a winning record. If being popular and turning around teams in College makes you a pro coach than lets go out and get Ed O. Don't be blinded for your love of Sanders. The guy can not coach. He is living off of his name. He will be gone in a few years.

The Big 12 is still a solid conference. Arizona State. BYU. Texas Tech. Baylor. Kansas State. Utah. These are major programs that are sending plenty of players to the NFL. Again, they hadn’t had a winning record since 2016. He got them nine wins in year 2 after them being a bottom feeder for almost an entire decade. He’s living off being a CEO style coach that knows how to put people in the right place and both identify and recruit talent.
