I'd be more than happy to take BPA at 9, even trade back a bit for 2026 first round pick. And out the team in Rattlers hand and take a QB in the 2/3 be it Milroe,McCord,Shough or Ewers and let them compete.

I don't see how Sanders gets past the Browns, honestly. They have Deshaun Watson and Kenny Picket as the current QBs. No way either of those two are a franchise QB at this point.

With the newly released news on Carrs injury I see it being more likely Dart is picked at 9. Might as well pull the trigger instead of delaying it until next year

The Chiefs first pick in the 2016 NFL draft was Chris Jones. The top QB on the board when they made that pick was Christian Hackenberg. In that case, I think it paid off to delay it until next year. You have to believe in the player and see the value versus the alternatives available. Realistically the Saints are more than a year away and have many needs, with a much worse roster and cap situation than the 2016 Chiefs, so clearly they can wait if they need to.

I would love a BPA but who do you suggest we enter the season with? I’m not sold on Rattler. Dart, imo, is the best in the draft. Any vets left out thrre?

Re: Turning Attention to the Draft

Tyler Shough’s (Louisville QB) collegiate injury history would take him off my board.

Saints cannot afford to miss on this draft.

Re: Turning Attention to the Draft

Saints aren't going anywhere this year, even if we had a HOF coach at the helm. We'll be back with a top ten pick next year also, IMHO. Is there a QB in this year's crop or next year's that is an NFL starter and is of franchise quality, and that's any better than our question mark in the Bayou Rattler?

Settling for whoever QB after Cam is riddled with question marks, IMHO. If that's the case, as Kmajor, says, we need dogs that can play right away and for a long time. Draft beef on both sides. Howard can be had in the 3rd round. His numbers are improving if you look at his record in the past two years. And he's Josh Allen big and has some of his running skills if need be. I'd be OK rolling with Rattler, Howard and if need be Haener as 3rd string.

Shedeur showed decent versus subpar competition. He may be able to step up to the big league, or he may not. He can't hold on to the ball like he's shown so far. So is he a project at #9 is a valid concern? If he is, he has to be a hard pass, and let some other team deal with the Sanders press drama. Was Colorado a college playoff team?

Ask yourself, which college QB showed poise in the clutch?

If anything last year showed us, injuries at the OL killed us. We cannot have turnstiles protecting whoever the QB is going to be. We need new beef at OC and G and OT too. If both OTs are gone at #9, we can get the best OC or the best G or the best DL.

There is no JD5 in the draft this year, IMHO. Maybe next year, but it's too early to speculate. Or is it?

Who's there in 2026?

Re: Turning Attention to the Draft

There’s some writers out there saying that Sanders wants to do his own thing and doesn’t want “marching orders” so to speak. That’s what he’s been kind of telling teams I guess? That’s his honesty he talks about.

IMO Sanders is a reach at 9 and is only benefiting from a poor QB draft. I’m not saying he’s not NFL talent, but top 10? Plus you gotta deal with his daddy? Good grief. Not at 9.

I’m with Smash. Roll with Rattler. Trade down and get some trench warriors. Get younger on defense.

Sanders isn’t going to bring a Lombardi to NOLA.
