I've been a big supporter of Brooks and was involved in quite a few debates regarding his abilities twenty years ago when he played for the Saints. That said, IIRC, when he came in for Blake, against the Raiders I think, his first pass was intercepted.

Re: Turning Attention to the Draft

I thought the offense was incredibly predictable under McCarthy back in those days. I'd say the same thing about the Cowboys offense the past few years. In Green Bay, there were good years that the offense rolled, but I wonder now if that was Aaron Rogers making audibles to change the calls McCarthy had sent in.

Nick Emmanwori - S

South Carolina

Big (6’3, 225) freakish guy with speed, has a nose for the football. Elite tackle radius & closing burst.

Projected — Day 2 (high 2nd rd grades). Immediate impact player prospect.

Re: Turning Attention to the Draft

Edge Rusher - James Pearce Jr

Tennessee

POSITIVES

Good height, looks like he has long arms and room for growth on his frame.

— Impressive athlete who has good movement skills to develop as a pass-rusher.

— Accelerates off the line of scrimmage well to win with speed around the edge paired with a solid rip move and good bend to turn a tight corner at the top of the rush.

— Can win by turning speed to power as a pass-rusher.

— Has the agility and change of direction to be an effective looper on line games, he doesn't have to lose ground to move laterally.

Pro comparison - > Brian Burns

Re: Turning Attention to the Draft

Draft a qb if not a reach, or move up if there is a near certain solid one. Pickup Rodgers for a year

The one time you should have sold the farm to move up you let KC get QB of the future....to be fair you have the worst gm in football

Re: Turning Attention to the Draft

SO WHO'S YOUR EDGE GUY?

Watching the SB and seeing how pressure with the front four is killer, Edge looks like the best pick with number 9, barring some crazy scenarios.

Who ya got? Abdul Carter likely gone, the clear number one.

I'm mixed on a few that should be there.

James Pearce - best first step in college football. Gets to the ball with momentum. Needs to show effort more percentage of plays.

JT Tuimoloau - what a stud! People aren't talking about him, but I think it's because they're all scared someone else will pick him if they talk about him. He's likely going much higher than all these mock drafts have him.

Mike Green - Led college football in sacks, balled out senior bowl week. I still say we stay away from smaller school prospects in round one. We haven't had much success there.

Back on topic …

Mason Graham - DT
Michigan

1st rd talent, a lot of mocks have him in the 10-22 range.

Shore up that defensive front with dawgs (see Philly).

Graham at 9 would be nice.
