Re: Saints Hire Kellen Moore as Head Coach
IMO it would be wise of everyone to "give it time".
Whether Carr is the QB or not, Kellen needs a season or two, maybe even three to gain experience and build a team. Sean Payton started 10-6 but followed with 7-9 and 8-8 before double digit winning seasons. Let's give the man time to build his team. ![]() |

Re: Saints Hire Kellen Moore as Head Coach
It gives the fans something shiny and new to distract them from the steaming pile of manure this team was for the bulk of this past season.
We now have the youngest HC in the NFL. We also have one of the oldest rosters. I'm letting that marinate over the off season to see which direction we go from here. Label me cautiously pessimistic until more changes take place. ![]() |

Re: Saints Hire Kellen Moore as Head Coach
Hopefully Kellen Moore contacts Sean Payton to trade him players who are vestiges of the Payton era.
My optimism or pessimism will be based largely on the Derek Carr decision. If we retain Carr, and especially if we retain Carr and spend more money that will make it harder to get rid of Carr next year, I will be pessimistic because I cant realistically look forward to that. If we clean house to fix our cap, I will cheer all year even if I have to wait until week 18 for our first win. |

Re: Saints Hire Kellen Moore as Head Coach
I think we're stuck with Carr for another year, and can win with him if we beef up the lines and draft well.
I think Carr can be a 10 win QB if we stay relatively healthy, add a few value free-agents to fill some holes, and draft well. |
