As for the "injury", I have heard "speculation" that it is likely the injury that he suffered in the 2023 season. Nothing new or out of the blue, if so. I believe, outside of the regular season, HIPAA rules apply and individual teams, nor the league itself, can share medical details without the consent of the player. However, as a contracted employee I also believe that the team must have access to that information, even though they are prohibited from sharing the same. I think there is little doubt the Saints front office know exactly where things lie.

As for Carr's off-season silence, nothing new there. Apparently he has always maintained a fairly low profile. I believe the podcast was more the pet project of his brother, David.

There has been nothing more than media speculation to date about Carr this off-season. There may or may not be truths to any or all of it. We'll find out sooner or later. It is the deadest period of the NFL year --- the period between combines and the rookie draft.

AFAIK conduct detrimental to the team is completely at the Saints discretion. Rizzi could have been disciplined or released for conduct detrimental to the team after clogging a toilet.

Not really. There are contractual stipulations that would have to have been standardized by the league to prevent any team from arbitrarily eliminating cap hit. Coaches, of course are different and do not affect the cap. But player contracts have to fit completely within the confines of the league definitions. That's why when the bogus "bountygate" punishments were appealed all players were exonerated while coaches had no avenue to even appeal.

Honestly, the Saints or any other team do not have much say at all on what is or is not detrimental as defined by the league. They can claim what they want, but the league decides and, as I stated, nothing has even approached anything that has ever been deemed as detrimental to my knowledge.

To your knowledge? Dude had “Detriment” written all over him in black and silver, long before he became “Excrement” in black and gold.

Time will tell but IMO you're dead wrong.

This reeks of petulance.

Derek Carr is done in New Orleans and I hope we trade him for a 7th round pick to the Niners.

I'd rather see them put him on IR immediately. Force him to miss all off-season work and the season. Then wait until after June 1st next year to cut him. By then he'll be a 35/36 year old QB who hasn't played in nearly 2 years and will have missed a significant portion of the off-season, making it even more difficult for him to latch on somewhere else. This is what Derek Carr deserves. And I say that as someone who believed in him when he was signed, and who still believed he could be a good QB at the beginning of last year. He has shown me who he is now, and I hope he never plays another down for anyone. F**k Derek Carr.

We're not going to get anything in trade if any of this is true.

That's the point - none of it is true.
