Carr will NEVER play another down for New Orleans.
He moved to California after his injury last season, and he has never returned since then.

Couple of good edge guys and a handful of really good CB's still on the board.

But he's still going to be paid themselves of millions over the next few years, playing or not.

So they needed a QB, Moore has likely picked his man. A QB on a rookie deal is still your best friend when roster building as its cheaper to get a CB/DE in free agency(not by as much as it used to be granted)

Re: DRAFT 2025 LIVE THREAD

Every year it’s the same thing…reach for an experimental player or a player with an injury history. We could have gotten him with our 2nd pick in the 3rd or probably our 4th rd pick.

Tyler was in school for 7 years and injured every year he played. His game play does not give me hope that he will be anymore than an average QB.

We could have taken a chance on Will Johnson or an edge rusher instead of Tyler. We are going to a 3-4 and have no edge rushers.

Our front office needs a cleansing. This year is going to be one for the books for sure.

Yeah saying we have a few years to replace Carr is like saying Bruce Willis can only do a few more Die Hard movies.

You're complaining they took Shough with his injuries but you wanted Will Johnson who has refused to run a 40 because they feared he wouldn't out up good times. And is also dealing with a extensive lower body issues including a knee problem that may well be degenerative/arthritic

Would I prefer he had no injury history? Sure. But he's still the most pro ready QB in this class. I'm not even out here trying to say he's going to be any good, but to knock him for his past injuries is silly.
Its cool that Shough has a size and arm talent, but to ignore his injury history and call him the most pro ready is silly. Shadeur Sanders has a similar number of attempts, more TDs, and less INTs at the D1 level. The same number of reps with more TDs and less INTs tells me Sanders is more pro ready. Shough is just big and old.

I am not sure a 26 year old rookie has ever had a successful NFL career? Is there precedent? Warren Moon was older but he played 4 years in the CFL first and won the grey cup every year. There have been a few great 6'1-ish QBs who didnt run. I can't find any successful QB who came out of college at 26. So not only does Shough have to turn from glass to steel, he then has to not be steel Chris Weinke or steel Brandon Weeden.

This theory only works if the QB on the rookie deal is good. If we were going to take a chance I would have preferred that we traded down or took a chance on a player with a higher ceiling.

We do not have good record of drafting QBs…even to just be a decent backup…i.e Book, Haener, Rattler (maybe)

Man….this is depressing

It's Kellen Moore's pick at the end of the day. What Slough's story? Super quick release ? Seattle won a SB with an older QB.

Will Johnson didn’t need to run. He was still the consensus 2nd rated CB but everyone knew he would slide due to injury. His tape showed that he was a very good CB.

Tyler was never a top QB in a poor draft for QBs. I would have rather taken a chance on a CB who I saw excel at his position against top WRs than a questionable QB with a much lower ceiling.

Tyler benefited from drama with Sanders and I hope that I’m wrong on him and that he becomes the next Tom Brady
