I dig it. Who cares that he is 25. Let’s say he sits year one and then starts and he is our guy until 40.

That’s 14 years folks.

I’m pretty sure you guys noticed he wore #9. Maybe a sign. Fingers crossed 🤞

But I hope he knows it’s off limits.

Kellen Moore didn't draft him and was willing to spend the highest draft pick on a QB since Archie Manning. I suspect it's Shough's job to lose. They're not going to want to admit being wrong on this one. Plus Shough is 6'5" and Rattler is probably hovering around 6'1". It's politics involved.

Kellen Moore had plenty of time to evaluate Rattler.

Doubt he'd spend a high pick on a QB who he doesn't view as a better player.

I see Haener as the odd man out while Rattler and Shough battle it out in camp.

I'm positive he believes Shough is the better player. I wouldn't necessarily agree, but I definitely feel like he believes that. That's why I doubt Rattler gets a real chance. He has to go absolutely bonkers in camp and during the preseason.

To not admit wrong and bork your season because of that just doesn't make sense.

Loomis fought hard to admit he was wrong about Dennis Allen and Derek Carr so it's not as though it's out of the ordinary behavior.

The problem isn’t that being 25 will make him turn 40 earlier. The problem is that being 25 probably made him look better than he is playing against 20 year old kids. You dont neccessarily have to subtract years from his career to equalize value, you have to look at what Rattler accomplished in college before leaving for the draft at 23yo or what Shedeur Sanders accomplished in his last season of college at 22yo and compare to what Shough produced in college by age 22-23 which is basically nothing but injuries and 1:1 td:int ratio. Any mildly ok qb will eventually have a good college season if they keep getting closer to their late 20’s prime than their rivals and wait for one perfect year, but at some point you have to buy the normalized trend not the peak.
