New Orleans Saints add versatile producers in first draft under Coach Kellen Moore

On the final day of the 2025 NFL Draft the New Orleans Saints added two offensive players and three defenders, shoring up some areas with depth and possible starters while sticking to the script of bringing in versatile producers who possessed the character makeup the franchise seeks.

New Orleans drafted Oklahoma linebacker Danny Stutsman (No. 112 overall) and Louisville cornerback Quincy Riley (131) in the fourth round, Kansas running back Devin Neal (184) in the sixth round and UCLA tight end Moliki Matavao (248) and Syracuse edge Fadil Diggs (254) in the seventh.

Add to that collection Texas offensive tackle Kelvin Banks Jr. (No. 9) in the first round, Louisville quarterback Tyler Shough (40) in the second and Texas defensive tackle Vernon Broughton (71) and safety Jonas Sanker (93) in the third, and New Orleans' first draft class under Coach Kellen Moore totals four offensive and five defensive players.

"I think when you look at our roster, we've got a lot of good players in a lot of different rooms, and yet there's depth that you want to gain, there's guys that you want to put in a room or maybe you've got an older player and so you're looking forward to two years from now or three years from now this guy can step into a starter's role, if not sooner," Saints Executive Vice President/General Manager Mickey Loomis said Saturday afternoon.

"I think there's a lot of guys that have the opportunity to be starting contributors for us and good players for hopefully a long time. But it's up to them and it's up to us to help them grow into that and give them the opportunity. But I'm pretty pleased with the group right now."
