Kellen gives me the sense he could be a modern day version of Sean Payton.

The way Sean connected with his players but in a different style.

The scheme and play-calling but less predictable week to week.

The staff with more input from the group and specialized backgrounds.

I'm so optimistic it's scaring me.

Might be better ... we'll see.

Did you notice the musculature of his legs? Makes the others look way smallish, other than The Gambler (Hunter Dekkers).

Our offensive line is pretty tall. They range from 6'4" to 6'7".

Wait, is Jake Haener Really a Threat to Win Saints QB Competition?
Quote:

Haener went 5-for-7 during 11-on-11 period on Friday afternoon, and throughout the early days of camp, he’s showed a preparedness in the meeting rooms and a willingness to push the ball down the field that has impressed Kellen Moore and the Saints coaching staff. After Friday’s practice, Moore reiterated that he viewed New Orleans’ QB competition as a three-man tilt.

None of us know what this team is going to look like this year and beyond so allow me to throw some water on your optimistic fire:

Kellen Moore already making Saints mistake Cowboys fans are familiar with
The Dallas faithful already knew this, but New Orleans may have hired someone who isn't ready to be a head coach.
Quote:

Moore has taken an egalitarian approach to evaluating Rattler, Shough and Haener. They've taken turns rotating daily, splitting first, second and third-team reps evenly. While some may call this leaving no stone unturned or due diligence, others can rightfully see it as indecisiveness.

There's no denying that Moore is a proven play-caller who understands football's X's and O's. His success as an offensive coordinator in Dallas, and most recently with the defending Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles, validates that notion. But he's ostensibly scrambling for a signal-caller solution, and the optics paint a picture of someone unsure of themselves.

Edit: That was kind of a jerk move so let me also add a positive spin:
Young Saints defenders making early statement during training camp
Quote:

New Orleans Saints cornerbacks Kool-Aid McKinstry and Quincy Riley have been among the biggest noisemakers during the first week of the team's training camp.
When talking about Riley, a fourth-round pick (No. 131 overall) in April's NFL Draft, Moore praised his awareness and aggressive playing style.
"He finds the ball and he attacks the football," Moore observed. "That's one thing we saw on film coming into the draft process. He's a ball guy," Moore elaborated.
Moore didn't stop his praise there. He also acknowledged second-year pro McKinstry, a 2024 second-round pick (No. 41 overall), noting, "This has been a big-time camp for Kool-Aid.
"He's played phenomenal," Moore said. "His confidence, every single day, he's just making a ton of plays and to see his ability to transition in the coverage game is really, really good."
