I was in New Orleans last weekend also -- stayed until Tuesday -- Agree that there signs of life in New Orleans -- Rests are starting to re open -- but the big thing I saw was the Creamery on Prytania near Upperline. Is was good to see parents bringing their kids out for ice cream. And the prytania theatre was open -- people jogging and walking their dogs.
Of course on the other side of the coin was couldn't get the taste of drywall out of my mouth. Seems like the whole city is full of dust. |

Yeah my allergies were going nuts. Uptown and the French Quarter are fine. Lake View was very sad for me as we lived there for years. I drove out to New Orleans East. Wow, I couldn't go any further. There were boats and things on Read Blvd. I just don't know how that area will come back and I already saw bulldozers on those apartments on your left on the way in before Crowder.
