Heartbeat in new orleans
I know its not Saints related so you can move it but thought people would be interested:
Was in New Orleans over the weekend and Monday/Tuesday dealing with Insurance agents etc. Just wanted everyone to know that regardless of how bad everything is (and it is) there is a heartbeat in New Orleans. On Saturday they had a music festival (The VooDoo music festival) was held behind Audubon Zoo at the riverfront park. 4 stages of music and the Nine Inch nails played. Uptown you saw people walking their dogs, jogging etc. De La Salle high school had a Halloween party on Sunday evening for neighborhood children. Uptown rests are slowly opening on limited menus -- the Luna cafe coffee house is open and mornings are packed. Of course the normal bars are open Fat Harrys, Igors, F&M's patio bar, maple leaf etc. Mater of fact most bars were open. I guess I just wanted to say that it will be a long time before things are normal -- but the New Orleans spirit remains -- and people are rebuilding -- |
