Benson, state postpone termination dates in Saints' lease
WWLTV.com Saints owner Tom Benson and Governor Kathleen Blanco have agreed to postpone two termination dates in the team’s lease with the state. Benson proposed delaying the dates until 2007 in a letter sent to Blanco. "This will allow the State of Louisiana to focus on more immediate and pressing issues in the wake of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita," wrote Benson. "It also will allow the Saints to avoid prematurely having to consider decisions that can better be made in the months ahead." The Saints had a much-publicized option to declare the Superdome unfit and possibly terminate their lease by the end of November. Tim Coulon of the Louisiana Superdome Commission said the agreement means the Saints will play in Baton Rouge or a combination of New Orleans and Baton Rouge for the coming season. http://www.wwltv.com/sports/stories/....2aaa1dc3.html |

RE: Benson, state postpone termination dates in Saints
I gotta bad feeling about this...Mr. Benson should be applauded for his discretion at this juncture. But I was married to someone who acted like this and the price was usually disproportionate to the kindness.

Benson always seems to have something up his sleeve. He gets your hopes up only to crash them 3-fold. Anyone else ran for cover when they read "Benson" and "Blanco" in the same sentence?
