Does anyone else see it.......

Culpepper and McNabb are done for the year. McNair is done after this season, Vick is on his last leg. Brooks is done period. Does anyone else see the trend? Everybody wants a Brady. The new Vick at VTech will be an afterthought.

Michael Robinson from Penn State!!!!! Love to have him on our team??? Doubt it thou because we will proably keep AB anyway.

I'm a huge Penn State fan, this guy is great, but I'm not sure how much of a shot he will get in the NFL. He's also really only had just this one year at QB there.

Vince Young

I don't think you'll see people abandon this type of QB. McNabb will be back, it's just been a bad year, Dante will be back, McNair doesn't have a team but may be on his way to retirement, AB will start somewhere (Arizona?).

I haven't seen the Penn State dude enough to comment intelligently, but I think Young may have the stuff to get it done in the pros. I thought Vick was looking like a better QB than his bro, but Miami brought him back to earth (he's still only started 10 games).

Let's not forget the future of the athletic QB....Amac :monkey:

I don't know Vick is 6-3 so far this season, I don't see how that is on his last leg.

yasoon 11-16-2005 11:02 AM

Vick is not 6-3 this year, the falcons are.

For the most part they win with Defense and timely offense. Their D won the philly game, their D won the Miami game, the refs won the saints game (and they scored 2 defensive TDs).

I agree that saying Vick is done is premature, he's a young dude. But, you are the one who gets upset when all the blame goes on our QB, so I think you should be cognizant of giving the Falcons team effort credit for their record rather than saying Vick is 6-3. (You would flip out if someone said that AB is 2-7 would you not?)

But ,then again, I disagree with just about everything you say, so why should this be an exception?

Guys, he was talking about MARCUS Vick, Virginia Tech QB, who is a run first, option-style back. Cher (if I may be so bold) was trying to imply that quarterbacks that seek contact are going to be less desirable in the future due to durability issues and the next draft will reflect that.

He was talking about Marcus when he mentioned the new Vick. He is actually more of a passer than Mike ever was. The last leg comment, i assume, is Mike because those are all pro qbs in that sentence and I don't see how anyone could say that a 10 time college starter is on his last leg.

And, xan, not trying to be a know it all *****, just filling you in :) Marcus doesn't really run the option. He seems to be more of a pass first guy than his brother. 65% completions is pretty solid, but I think Miami brought him back to earth a bit. He's not as elusive as Mike, but a bit more accurate, which could ultimately make him appealing both to the pocket passer folks and the mobile QB folks.

I thought Virginia Tech runs a pro-style offense.

Don't be too quick to dismiss Ron Mexico. Defenses still have to account for the guy. He's 25, and still has another three years before he enters his prime.

yasoon 11-16-2005 01:20 PM

You're right BnB, but as he continues to get pounded and gets forced out of his comfort zone, he could fall apart (wishful thinking). He's an otherworldly talent, no doubt, but you get in his head and let him blow out a knee and things could get bad in a hurry. Notice, he has not had any of the spectacular runs this year. He has done a real good job of running for 8 on 3rd and 7, which is valuable as hell. But, the highlight reels were rolling every week last year.

He has also been a punk to the media and has been very sensitive to criticism, showing that his mental toughness is lacking (like his cuz). He won't even come on local radio here in Atl, and they kiss his butt. I was a fan at Va tech, but he has gone lower and lower on my scale. All QBs take heat, it's how you take it that shows your character. AB thinks he has it bad, McNabb was getting booed the other night out there trying to play with a hernia...they cheered when mcmahon came in. That's brutal. (Even though that pick to Williams was REALLY bad.) McNabb has done alot for them and he still got booed. QB is rough, man.
